Backlit Moon Workshop 🌙
Create a piece that looks amazing during the day—and completely transforms when the lights go down!
In this workshop, you’ll create your own Backlit Moon, building layers of texture and dimension to recreate the craters, ridges, and rugged surface of the moon. Once illuminated from behind, all that texture comes to life with a warm glow around the lunar surface.
This is a great project for anyone who loves unique home décor, textured art, or just wants to try something completely different. No artistic experience is needed—we’ll guide you through the process step by step.

Because each moon is created by hand, no two will be exactly alike. Your crater placement, texture, shading, and finish will make yours completely unique.

Please Note: Workshop seats are non-refundable. If you're unable to attend, your project can be completed during a future Open Studio opportunity. You're welcome to BYOB and bring snacks to enjoy while you create.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
Once your order has been submitted we are immediately beginning the process of production of your personalized stencil. If you would like to cancel your reservation, you must give a minimum of 48 hour notice.
No refunds will be given. If a reservation is canceled at least 48 hours prior to the workshop, the customer can receive a credit towards a future project of equal value. Same day cancellations or no-shows will not be eligible for a credit.
Hammer & Stain reserves the right to make any amendments to this policy at any time. Notification of any changes will be published on this page. If you have any inquiries regarding cancellations or any of our other policies please contact us.
Guest Policy
Guest Policy
Unless otherwise specified in the workshop description, unregistered guests are not permitted to attend any workshop, whether it is a public workshop or private party. Bringing an unregistered guest will result in the guest being asked to leave as this interferes with the attention and experience of our registered makers. Makers can inquire about purchasing a guest seat but the request will be subject to approval.

Wood
If your project uses or is made of wood, this policy applies. This is a natural wood workshop, so your sign will have random cracks, chips, knots and other natural blemishes that give it character! Some peeling may occur. We will do our very best to minimize disturbances to the words and make everything look intentional, but due to the nature of the workshop we can make no guarantees. Please keep in mind, no sign is absolutely perfect, as it is hand crafted, but it will certainly be wall worthy!
